Q Christian’s Volunteer

Events Advisory Council

As Q Christian Fellowship plans its annual Conference and other regional events, it is imperative that we center accessibility relative to cost, location, and venue. We have formally developed an Events Advisory Council (EAC), composed of community members and led by Executive Director Bukola Landis-Aina, to help guide Q Christian Fellowship as we continue to plan future events. This EAC meets 2-3 times a year as needed.

Daniel Contreras

Hi, I'm Daniel from Southern California. I've been part of Q Christian Fellowship / Gay Christian Network since 2007, having attended the past 12 conferences. My conference volunteer work includes creation of the annual Unofficial Conference Guide, as well as the new Brian M. Eckstein Podcast Stage. As a strong believer in the life-changing power of QCF's community, I've worked hard to bring members together year-round. I co-founded West Coast Connection, the longest running annual gathering of QCF members outside of conference. Two values that guided WCC from the beginning are affordability and gender parity, at all levels. In addition to my work on the West Coast, I make several trips each year around the US and Canada, where I help arrange local QCF meetups. When not involved with this community, I'm a bit of a Star Wars superfan.

Hing Wong

Hing Wong has been involved with various LGBT Christian organizations for over 20 years.  He has served on several church boards and as a camp director, counselor, deacon, and Sunday school teacher. Hing has attended all Gay Christian Network/Q Christian Fellowship (GCN/QCF) conferences (since 2007), except for the first two. In Hing’s professional life, he is an urban planner and an adjunct lecturer/professor. He has organized dozens of conferences and events for his work and profession as well as having served as the inclusion director with the goal of promoting more diversity in the field.  Hing enjoys traveling, having been to all 50 states and over 60 countries.

Dean Johnson

Hi, I’m Dean Johnson. My formal training is in Electrical Engineering (Aerospace), most recently working as an Operations/Logistics manager in the security field. I am also a member of both The Episcopal Church (US) & the Uniting Church in Australia. My husband (Richard Archambault) and I currently live in the Washington, DC area. We are both dual US/Australian citizens, having lived in Australia for six years. I met Richard in 2010 at the Nashville conference, after being involved with the organization since 2007. We have both traveled extensively before and after meeting, and look to get the most value out of our travel experiences. I hope to see QCF continue to reach out to those on the margins and be strategic in event planning to provide the greatest benefit to those who need it.

Philip Graves

Philip is a longtime member of the Q Christian community and is involved in facilitating online Age Groups.
