The Power of Relationships | Monday Invocation

“I hope for groups of people to revisit beliefs that have done harm. Reclaim scriptures intended for: the work of justice and equal treatment, renewal of faith, and action for each of us. A rebirth for those who seek to find grace and mercy.”

- Kathy Baldock

Kathy Baldock, author, LGBTQ+ advocate, and founder of CanyonWalker Connections, is a leading expert on the historical and current discrimination against the LGBTQ+ community.

She is currently completing her second, much-anticipated book based on original research as to the origins of the word “homosexual” and its first usage in the RSV Bible in 1946. Baldock is also one of the researchers featured in the much-acclaimed documentary “1946: The Mistranslation that Shifted a Culture."

However, in January she spoke to us not about her research that led to the work presented in the documentary but about the hard soul-searching and relationship work that led her to start digging into how the scriptures had been mistranslated.
